Joanna Paterson is a fashion, portrait, and still life photographer based in London, England. Recent commissions have included Collezioni Bambini, Alex & Alexa, No Added Sugar, Junior Magazine, Marie Claire Magazine, River Island, Nike, JD Sports, Adidas, KSWISS and Utility.
Her work has been featured on Wallpaper Magazine’s and Nick Knight’s ShowStudio website, The Guardian, the cover of the British Journal of Photography and the Association of Photographers Awards Book.
Outside of paid commissions, on going personal projects including a series on the female nude inspired by the French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir and a series focusing on the brilliance of childrens’ imagination, much of which can be seen on this site.
Joanna received her M.A from the London College of Fashion in 2008, previously gaining a first class Foundation Degree from the Arts Institute of Bournemouth. While studying for her M.A, Joanna was the winner of the Association of Photographers’ Student Photographer of the Year Award, and listed as one of Wallpaper Magazine’s ‘Top 10 photography graduates to watch’.
She has previously been awarded the Tillman’s Scholarship which is funded by Harold Tillman, the Chairman of the British Fashion Council.
